Did anyone remember that today is April Fool’s Day? I didn’t and therefore had no tricks up my sleeve. Maybe next year.
I was thinking about pet peeves today; those little things that other people do that just get under your skin and make you crazy.
Of all my pet peeves – bad drivers, people who bring their babies to the office and expect you to hold them, open-mouth eaters, close-talkers - I think the biggest one is being interrupted.
I pride myself in being a good listener. And if I can relate to something I’m being told, I like to share my experience to show that I understand because I’ve been there. But I wait until it’s my turn.
Some people don’t know how to wait - these are the people who hear what you’re saying but aren’t listening. They’ll talk over you, and loudly, so they can tell their story. In these instances, I lose all interest in sharing but continue to listen because some people just need to know someone else cares.
What are your pet peeves? How do you handle yourself when faced with them?

my pet peve is blogs about pet peves….
just kidding. and sorry for interrupting you last night at the group. i saw the fustration on your face.
I don’t have pet peves. I just have explode buttons. you can walk all over me, say whatever you want, chew your food loudly, pick yer nose or whatever…
but if you lie to me, lie about me, or disrespect my wife and friends; i will burn your house to the ground, brother.
